Riley’s Cup Championship 2022 Wrap Up

The last stop of the 2022-23 fall season for the North Carolina BASS High School and Junior Series was the annual Riley’s Cup Championship held out of Blythe Landing at Lake Norman. We had our largest field thus far with 96 boats signed up to fish on clear day. The young men and women took off in search of big largemouth and spotted bass that roam these clear waters.

Stanly County Juniors Eudy and Clontz – 3rd Place

Leading the way in the Junior Division (19 teams) was the Warrior Bass team Of Noah King and Brodie Davis with a five fish limit weighing 10.26 pounds! With that catch, the team won the 1st place trophies and Skyline Marine/Shimano gift cards. Finishing second was Bentlee Black from the Cleveland County Bass Anglers team. His five fish limit weighed 8.89 pounds and won him the second place trophy.

Junior Results

In the High School Division, the Caldwell County team of Grayson Webb and Aiden Reid scored their first ever victory by weighing in a 5 fish limit of 12.56 pounds! Their impressive catch was anchored by the big fish of the day which weighed 4.20 pounds! For their efforts, they took home the High School Champions plaques, Water Wood Custom Baits crankbaits, and $100 Shimano gift certificates from Skyline Marine.

Caldwell County Anglers Webb, Reid, Kirby and Reid -1st and 5th Place

Not far behind in second place with a limit weighing 11.08 pounds, Garrett Christy and Cayden Moore took home the 2nd-place plaques, Water Wood Custom Baits crankbaits, and $100 Shimano gift certificates from Skyline Marine.

High School Results

Finishing in third place, the second Riley’s Catch team of Luke Bramhall and Sailor Whitehead brough in a limit weighing 9.66 pounds! The team received the third-place plaques, Academy gift cards, and Water Wood Custom Baits crankbaits for their catch. The second Rowan County team in the top five was Hunter Alexander and Chase Wodzinski as they claimed fourth place weighing in a five fish limit of 8.85 pounds. They received the plaques and fourth-place Academy gift cards for their efforts. And rounding out the top five was our second Caldwell County team of Tyler Eggers and Maseon Reid with 8.80 pounds. They took home plaques and Academy gift cards for their catch.
